Building Control

Building Control is responsible for ensuring that the Building Regulations, a set of construction standards laid down by Parliament. The standards include requirements on most aspects of a building's construction including energy efficiency.

These standards are enforced through assessing plans and site inspection by impartial professionals with a thorough knowledge of the Building Regulations and other relevant British Standards, Codes of Practice and guidance.

Parts of the Building Regulations, include the conservation of fuel and power (Part L),  which aim to help reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment.
