In the cold winter months it’s good to know that for those needing extra help to stay warm there is help available. The ice, snow and frost in
winter bring lots of challenges, but for some there are very real concerns
about the costs of heating our homes.
The World Health Organisation
recommends that safe indoor temperatures for older people, young children and
those with a long-term health condition is 21°C (70°F) during the day and 18°C
(64°F) at night.
The Hertfordshire Warmer Homes scheme
is here to help. Run in partnership by Hertfordshire County Council and
the district and borough councils, the scheme can provide free or discounted household improvements such as insulation that will make your home easier and cheaper to heat.
